Some things are so unbelievably frustrating that you could just tear your hair out in a rage. However if the source of your frustration is your quickly thinning scalp, you may want to consider another outlet for your emotions. Luckily, with the modern technology available to us, hair loss does not have to be a significant reason for your discontent. There are options available to those battling a balding head, that range from invasive surgeries to getting creative with tattoos. The key to dealing with hair loss is to remember that it is natural, and that it is not the end of the world. If you can keep a healthy perspective, perhaps even a sense of humor about it, it will be much easier to deal with in the long run.
From FUSS to scalp micropigmentation
The first thing to note in the whole process is that there are some terms to familiarize yourself with, most notably FUSS and FUE hair transplants, and scalp micropigmentation. The first, FUSS, stands for Follicular Unit Strip Surgery, and is a process which involves removing a section of the scalp that is not balding, and relocated to the area that was devoid of hair. A perhaps more preferable alternative to that invasive and somewhat risky procedure is FUE, or Follicular Unit Extraction. This process is less invasive and allows for a shorter recovery time as well as minimal scarring compared to FUSS, and is performed by transferring one unit or follicle at a time instead of strips. Finally, scalp micropigmentation basically refers to a head tattoo which resembles a very short haircut. It can be used for the main look on a bald head or to give the appearance of thicker hair.
Getting the look you want
Most hair transplant clinics will give you thorough and step-by-step explanations of your options. Many people are opting for FUE procedures, as they can often be done in eight hours, as opposed to the lengthier FUSS surgeries that often must be done over the course of several visits. Whether you choose either of those surgeries, or go for the scalp tattoo, you should be getting the look that you want, which boils down to not being bald! Just keep in mind that bald isn’t always bad. Nothing natural should be a source of shame. But if you are set on a certain look, it wouldn’t hurt to scope out hair transplant clinics even if you still have a full head of hair. About half of the hair on a man’s head will already have left the premises by the time the hair thinning really even becomes noticeable or visible.
Own your look, whatever that look may be. But know that you do have options, and you are not bound to one hairstyle destiny just because it runs in your family. Being free of hair could be liberating and release you from daily hassle, but if that’s not something you would look forward to, look into your hair recovery options before all of it is gone.
