When Was the Last Time You Took on a New Fitness Routine?
If you are looking for a way to be your best self this summer then you need to find a way to start moving. Whether it is a brisk 30 minute walk every day or it is a trip to a local home fitness store to find some ways to get the exercise you need indoors, there are plenty of resources available. The trick, of course, is finding a way to not only get the recommended amount of fitness, but to also control the amount and the kind of calories that you eat.

From rowing machines to tread mills to home resistance weight training, sports stores offer a number of ways to make sure that you are getting the exercise that you need. Unfortunately, the latest statistics show that as many as one in three Americans develops Type 2 diabetes in their lifetime. The good news, of course, is that regular physical activity can help prevent and manage this condition. Adults, however, are not the only ones who are in danger of spending too much time sitting instead of being active.

In fact, only one in three children is physically active every day, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. And it should come as no surprise that physical inactivity early in life can lead to health problems later on. No matter what you have to do to stay motivated to get the exercise that you need, your efforts will not be wasted. Did you know, for instance, that to improve your cardiovascular health the Cleveland Clinic recommends that you simply get 30 minutes of moderate physical activity for five days a week? This means that for a mere two and a half hours of exercise every week you can be a much healthier, and likely happier, self.
