Why You Should Take Up Biking In The United States And Far Beyond

Physical activity is hugely important to people of all ages. After all, movement is something that helps to keep us healthy, both physically as well as mentally. Exercise helps to relieve stress and also helps to improve our overall physical condition. Regular exercise can even prevent disease and help to extend life. However, far too few of us are exercise as frequently as we should be.

Unfortunately, the statistics that have been gathered on the subject more than back up this claim. These statistics show that up to 95% of the adult population of the United States alone is not getting enough exercise, not even getting up and moving for a mere half of an hour throughout the day. In addition to this, only about one third of this same population of people are meeting the weekly recommendations for exercise that have been set out by a number of medical organizations in this country and on a global scale as well. And even more worryingly, many children are not getting enough physical activity as well, something that could even end up hampering their overall brain development (particularly in regards to the development of fine and gross motor skills) as well as impacting their weight and overall health as a result.

Fortunately, there are steps that just about every parent out there can take to promote the living of a healthy lifestyle. Riding a bike is one great way to do this. After all, kids are ready to learn how to ride a bike from a relatively young age. As a matter of fact, according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, the vast majority of children will likely be ready by the time that they reach the age of five. And riding a bike is something that they will be able to do throughout their entire lives.

After all, riding a bike is very good for adult health as well, and is something that can easily be fit into the typical day. More and more people are choosing to commute to work via bike, that this commute alone can burn as much fat as going to the gym five days of the week and exercising for at least 40 minutes. Some studies have even shown that biking on a regular basis can greatly reduce your risk of a variety of diseases – and of dying a premature death, for that matter.

Biking is also quite incredibly good for the environment as well. As a matter of fact, biking instead of taking a car or another form of motorized transportation is actually likely to save as many as 238 million gallons of gas over the course of just one year. In the years that are to come, this number is only likely to increase as biking becomes more and more popular. With up to one billion bikes currently in use throughout the world, the number of bikes on this planet is already close to double the number of cars. Hopefully, this is a trend that only continues to grow.

And when you decide to take up biking, there are many different bike accessories that you can take advantage of, from a bottom bracket to a name brand front rack to even toe clip pedals or stand alone toe clips. The typical bottom bracket and other such accessories in addition to this bottom bracket are likely to be quite cost effective indeed. A bottom bracket, however, can ultimately greatly increase the joy that you get from biking. Therefore, something like a bottom bracket is likely to be more than worth the investment at the end of the day. And even name brand bike levers or a track chain can have an impact in how you bike and how often you even want to bike in the first place.

At the end of the day, everything from the bike frame to the bottom bracket matters. Therefore, taking your time to find the bike that’s right for you is a must, as too is taking time in selecting your bottom bracket or whatever other accessories you might be interested in.
